Peter Kamau, known as ‘PK’ knew, and followed, his primary calling from a young age. A passionate nature explorer and birder, he progressed to formal studies of tourism and wildlife management. Thereafter, he guided and lead tours in multiple environments - as long as they involved nature, curiosity and challenge!
During COVID–19 pandemic, PK trained further, this time to be a guide trainer and his credentials are extensive; they range from formal to experiential. The first Kenyan to attain KPSGA Gold level, FGASA Professional level, Trails guiding, Astronomy, ITMI certified Tour
Director and WFTGA National Guide Trainer qualifications.
PK is now a full-time nature guide trainer for Saruni Basecamp, wildlife educator and National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) registered trainer running training courses across East Africa for Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association (KPSGA), Field Guide Association of Southern Africa (FGASA) and World Federation of Tourist Guides Association (WFTGA).
He has been leading tours for over 20 years. His experience, exceptional fluency with English, German and Swahili, infection enthusiasm for wildlife and friendly disposition makes him one of East Africa leading professional guide.
